Summary of Position and Job Responsibilities:
Come join our exciting Infection Control team at Atrius Health where you will contribute to short-term and long-term goals for the infection control program across the organization. Collaborating with managers and frontline staff, you will visit the practice sites (estimated 40-50% of the time) and inspect and educate on the topic of Infection Control standards. You will be positioned to:
  • Answer questions, conduct research, collect surveillance information and assist all practice sites to incorporate infection control principles in current policies and procedures to provide a safe environment for patients, personnel and visitors.
  • Prepare reports and updates for management on auditing progress. Create and/or update written material and documentation related to Infection Control project work.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) and Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC), representing Atrius Health on all Infectious Disease related issues.
  • Contribute to the development and dissemination of Infectious Disease Clinical Guidance.
  • Assist in development of Infection Control training content for new hire orientation and other employee education programs as necessary.
Bachelors' degree in Health Care Administration, Nursing, or Public Health (or equivalent education, training or expertise) required. Masters' degree and CIC (Certified Infection Control Practitioner) preferred.
4 - 6 years' relevant experience in a similar position required. Background in health care preferred. Background in infection surveillance, prevention and control measures; Nursing, Epidemiology Principles; or Infectious Diseases strongly preferred.
Requires excellent oral and written communication skills and excellent project management and research skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams. Must possess excellent analytic, interpersonal and communication skills. Highly skilled in use of desktop software including Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to develop and execute complex work plans with substantial independence.
Able to use all electronic tools and applications relevant to the performance of the duties of the position, including but not limited to phone, keyboard, computer and computer applications.
Performs all job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, local and company policies and procedures.

Actively protects the confidentiality and privacy of all protected health information they access in all its forms (written, verbal, and electronic, etc.) taking reasonable precautions to prohibit unauthorized access. Complies with all Atrius Health and departmental privacy policies, procedures and protocols. Follows HIPAA privacy guidelines without deviation when handling protected health information.
